Gryaab AB in Gothenburg Sweden has taken the largest Discfilter installation in the world in operation. The installation consists of 32 of Hydrotech's HSF2200-series Discfilters, designed to treat 864 000 m3/d.The filter installation was taken into operation the 3June during an official opening ceremony.

Gryaab WWTP located in the second largest city in Sweden has upgraded the plant in order to fulfill the new requirements in Phosphorous removal of 0,3 mg P/l.
The plant was rebuilt including the addition of a Discfilter installation in order to filter all effluent. A completely new denitrification facility based on a Kaldness MBBR process was also installed.

The Discfilter installation consists of Hydrotech's Discfilter series HSF2200. Hydrotech's Discfilter are designed in order to have a very small footprint per m2 filter area and are installed in a newly designed building.
The small foot print of the Hydrotech Discfilters, compared to other techniques, made it possible to install the filtration system within the existing area of the WWTP.
