Clear intake water
There is increasing awareness that quality of inlet water is very important for successful fish farming.
It is not just the chemical quality of water, but also what is pumped to the farm with the waters that is important. You will import all kinds of marine life forms which can carry harmful virus, parasites or marine life that generate competition for the feed.
Even fungus can be partly removed and in case you have UV on the intake water, filtration will increase the UV effect dramatically as most particles are removed.
What is the economic potential if proper inlet filtration is installed?
Tests on a shrimp farm in Malaysia with Hydrotech filter filtering inlet water in combination with UV showed significant improvements in both growth and feed conversion:
► Feeding increased by 253 %
► Feed conversion were improved by 20 %
► Final havesting was improved by 300 %
This was a 46 days test on shrimp ponds where 2 identical pond each was stocked with 75.000 post larvae. The harvest result was:
► Pond 1 with traditional intake water: 71 kg
► Pond 2 with Hydrotech and UV installed: 214 kg
